ABOUT

A lifelong seamstress and maker of all kinds of things, Frances began to train in apparel production and pattern making on moving to the Bay Area from London in 2014. After a spell working as a pattern maker and design assistant for gr.dano studio in Sausalito, she went back to complete an AS in Apparel Production.

Pursuing an interest in sustainability and environmentalism, she went on to study further modules in Sustainable Design, and Local Sustainability with San Mateo County, and has just completed her AS in Fashion Design in 2022.

She is the co-founder of Maia Mothers apparel (www.maia-mothers.com), and organizes the Repair Cafe at the Cilker School of Art and Design.
